Kellan: 9 month

Kelland and David all ready for church!
Seriously, where in the world has the time gone? I cannot believe how grown up he is and how much he's changed in such a short time. I have loved every minute and can't wait to see him grow even more! It's bittersweet with each little milestone, but I couldn't be prouder of my little independent boy!

Kellan's Stats

Height: 30in (95%)
Weight: 19.5lbs (50%)

Kellan loves to eat. He loves anything bread, crunchy and most fruit. He seriously can't get enough of his little puffs and eats them any chance he can. He hates avocado and pasta noodles. While he loves to eat, he loves to move around even more.

He is ALWAYS on the move. He is so curious and is determined to get into everything. He loves to explore and crawl around the house. He picks up everything and if he can, he'll put anything and everything in his mouth. He loves his jumper more than ever, and he is constantly climbing on everything. I swear he'll be walking in the next week or so with how much he loves to walk along anything that will give him even a little bit of support. Whether it's a door, furniture, a toy, railing, or anything that stands for that matter, he is climbing it and then walking around it. It's seriously so cute and I can't wait for us to be able to play tag and run around in the yard and just play.

Kellan also loves to play with anything but his toys...

One of Kellan's favorite games is peek-a-boo. We could play that for hours and he loves every minute of it. We will crawl around the center table in the living room and look between the levels at each other and he just laughs and laughs and laughs! I love it.

Kellan is also in a swimming class. I have had so much fun taking him every week and we both look forward to it. I love that he loves the water and enjoys playing with the other kids and splashing and kicking and learning how to 'dig' in the water. It's so much fun! And it's perfect because summer is right around the corner and he's going to LOVE going out on the boat! I practically am counting down the days until he can learn how to waterski :) WAHOO!

Kellan has many friends. His best being Grandpa, and in Kellan's eyes Bella is his second best friend...but I doubt Bella has mutual feelings. She is a little scared of Kellan because he has yet to figure out the difference between "soft touch" and clenching. It's a constant game of cat and mouse with these two. Kellan LOVES Bella, and Bella...well she humors him and lets him pet him ever once in a while, but for the most part keeps a quazi-safe distance. :) Bella will let him pet her if one of the adults is there too to make sure that Kellan doesn't grab. In the following pictures please note that Kellan was squawking the whole time in excitement. And, we eventually let him pet Bella with some help.

Kellan sees his target

He is DETERMINED to get to Bella and starts to tug on the covers

Bella quickly moved to the other side of the bed and Kellan followed with my help :)
Kellan is the happiest little guy you will ever meet and continually brings so much joy to our lives.

baking, baking, and MORE baking!

This past week I have had so much fun baking! Not only was it St. Patrick's day, but also it was my mom's birthday! She loves carrot cake, so I made her some carrot cake cupcakes for her to take into work with her. Growing up I loved baking with my mom. I was always amazed how easy she made things look and that everything came out perfect no matter how difficult the recipe. Because of that, I love baking now, and I can't wait to bake with Kellan and have him experience the fun of being in the kitchen with mom.

On Saturday, I decided that my little primary class needed a St. Patty's day treat. I made green, vanilla cupcakes topped with a cream cheese frosting and a sour rainbow with a rolo pot of gold! I think if I make these again I'll find a different candy for the rainbow because it wouldn't hold the 'rainbow' shape very well. But, it was yummy so no one cared. :)

Kellan loves walmart

So a month or so back, I decided that Kellan needed to experience Walmart in its fullest. This is what happened:

After the initial shock, Kellan loved it. It was one of his first times sitting in the cart by himself, and was able to look around and stare at EVERYONE and everything. I have never seen a baby so interested in the world around him. Seriously, he is so alert and takes everything in. I was so thankful for the buckle, because he would've fallen out of the seat from trying to look at everything.

Since then, it's been the exact same, minus the first initial look of shock. haha

Instagram

When I first heard of Instagram I thought to myself, "oh my gosh-who cares what your breakfast looks like? No one wants to see a picture of your shoes, or meal, street, and heaven forbid even more of your children!" And then I got it.

Now, if you follow me on Instagram you know a small part of what goes on in my life. At time it is the delicious breakfast I made, a new shirt or something random, but mostly it's my kid. And I love it. I saw a recent tweet that said something to the effect of, "don't worry, i already know who you are-I stalked your facebook photos" or something like that. Of course I laughed, then thought, what do mine say about me? And then I continued that thought to my instagram-so I'm proud to say that I'm obsessed with my little guy, proud of some of the things I make, and have some random things happen once in a while.
And now, for some classy...and not so classy photos from my instagram. enjoy.
