In a quasi particular order:
Thanksgiving
This year was the year that I have been looking forward to my whole life. And when I say 'looking forward' to I mean: anxious, dreading, but still excited and happy. Does that make sense? I mean really, every girl sees her mom making the perfect Thanksgiving meal year after year and thinks to herself, "Self, that will be me one day. I will make the perfect meal and everyone will eat whatever I make, and they will LOVE it." And then that day comes and you think to yourself, "holy crap what did I get myself into?!"
Well...without any further detail, all I have to say is that even though I stressed out way too much about it, I pulled it off. I didn't burn the turkey or any other item on the menu. I successfully hosted an apartment full of family, and did I mention that I didn't burn anything? I will have to search for a picture from that weekend later but for now, I feel that all that matters is still the fact that all the food came out cooked to perfection. :)
The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas
Woof. Seriously, when you have a holiday to remind you that school is almost over for the semester (for david) and I have a 2 week vacation coming up within the month life is the worst. Work seems longer, school seems harder and more menial than ever, and all you want to do is run away. Well, those were the weeks leading up to Christmas. Enough said.
Ok, I have more to say...besides loathing life, I was looking rather plump. I was in that awkward stage of when people don't know if you're actually pregnant or just gaining some extra weight. It's actually quite funny (after the fact of course) Nothing made me feel prettier than when I saw a friend for the first time in a while and they say, "Oh, you look....great." With that uneasy perplexed look of, "should I really ask?" Always made my day. (please note the sarcasm)
Christmas
After months of anticipation Christmas had arrived!! David and I had the opportunity to go visit his family in Thailand again and to make things even better, his WHOLE family was going to be there! We had a ton of fun the whole time! We visited Koh Tao for a few days to enjoy the coast, sunbathing, some scuba diving, and beautiful warm weather! We then headed back to Bangkok and had a ton of fun seeing some beautiful sights in the area, playing games with the family and shopping! David and I also took a day to go to Chaing Mai and spent the day with elephants!!! Overall it was a wonderful trip and we had a blast! Needless to say, we were so sad to go back to the bitter cold of Rexburg. Also, while on the trip my tummy "popped" and I officially had a baby bump.
Since Christmas
David is finishing his last semester of school and both he and I are counting down the days where he doesn't have to stay up late working on a project, go to group meetings, or do homework ever again....or until grad school. But still, we are seriously just done with school. DONE. I am still working at the bank, and as much fun as I have there, I'm ready for a change as well. We are both excited for David's internship and the baby coming this summer and everything else that is ahead of us!
We also found out that we are having a baby boy! We're still figuring out names and such, but are having a blast planning! I have been sewing little projects and I can't wait to do more!
This was at 19 weeks...I am now 22 and about double that size...I'll try and post an updated picture :) |
Other than that, life has been great and we couldn't be happier!
